Take The Lead,
Inc. offers group classes for puppies (10-20 weeks of age) and dogs over 20
weeks old, at 2 convenient locations.

Aiken Classes
Pre-Registration for these classes is required
through the City of Aiken, Parks, Recreation & Tourism Department at
803-642-7631.
All classes are held indoors at the Odell Weeks Center on Whiskey Road
on Tuesday evenings.
Puppy Class
Held on Tuesday evenings on the following dates:
February 16 - March 23, 2010; 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.
July 27 - August
31, 2010; 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.
Puppies should be ten weeks to twenty weeks of age as of the first class date. This class runs for six weeks. The AKC S.T.A.R. (Socialization, Training, Activity, Responsibility) test will be offered during the last class to those puppies and owners who qualify. Classes are designed to provide owners with information on how to handle a new puppy. Puppies must have record of two sets of shots.
Basic Dog Training
Held on Tuesday evenings on the following dates:
February 16 - March 23, 2010; 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.
July 27 - August 31, 2010; 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Dogs should be at least five months old for this class. This class runs for six weeks. Your dog will learn the basic commands of come, sit, down, stay, wait, stand, etc. We will cover basic care of dogs and what to expect as the training progresses. You must provide a copy of your dog's rabies certificate.
Edgefield Classes
Classes are held Indoors at St. Mary's Catholic
Church Parish Center, located next to the Village Blacksmith Shop on
Jeter Street in Downtown Edgefield. Use the parking lot behind the
church. Pre-registration is required.
The next class sessions in Edgefield will
begin in Spring 2010.

Pre-registration is necessary for us to determine if there is enough
interest to hold the class. In order for your dog to receive the
benefits of socialization and interaction in the class, a minimum of four
(4) dogs are required to pre-register. Class size is limited to eight
(8) dogs in each class.

Puppy Training Class
Held on 7 consecutive days or evenings, dates and times to be determined for
Spring 2010 class.
For
Puppies ten weeks to twenty weeks of age
Proof of two sets of shots is needed
This class runs for six weeks and the AKC S.T.A.R. test will be offered on the
7th week.
Designed to provide owners with information on how to handle a new puppy.
Puppies will learn a variety of skills and commands.
Class fee is $80.00 which covers the full 7 week session.
The AKC S.T.A.R.
(Socialization, Training, Activity, Responsibility) test will be offered
during the last class to those puppies and owners who qualify.
Good Manners Dog
Training Class
Held on 7 consecutive days or evenings, dates and times to be determined for
Spring 2010 class.
Dogs should be at least five months old for this class.
This class runs for
six weeks and the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test will be offered on the
7th week.
Your dog will learn the basic commands of come, sit, down, stay, wait, stand, etc.
We will cover basic care of dogs and what to expect as the training
progresses.
Proof of rabies vaccination is needed.
Class fee is $80.00 which covers the full 7 week session.
EXTRA! The AKC Canine Good Citizen
Test will be offered after the class is completed.
